Tools

Tools is a category on the tool bar; tap it and its page-level utilities appear as buttons in the left panel: Zoom, Clean, Revert (when available), Clear, Setup, Rescan, Axes, Photos and History.

(Not to be confused with the Tools button in the app bar, which opens the fly state, dome pairing and cue list screen. Renumbering cues lives there, in the Cue List tab’s ⋮ menu; see Renumbering cues.)

Clean

Clean lifts a scanned page’s background (coffee stains, shadows, photocopier grey) while preserving the printed text:

1. Tap Clean . Lx1go analyses the page and shows a live preview.
2. Drag the aggressiveness slider until the page looks right. Gentle keeps faint pencil marks; aggressive whitens hard.
3. Confirm to save the cleaned image, or cancel to keep the original.

The original image is backed up automatically the first time you clean a page.

Revert

Restores the page’s original imported image, undoing any Clean. The button only appears on pages that have a backup of the original.

It asks first: the cleaned image is discarded (no copy of it is kept), and Revert isn’t on the Undo stack. Your cues, notes and drawings on the page aren’t touched. Cancel leaves the page as it is. To get the cleaned look back, run Clean again.

Clear

Removes every element and drawing from the current page (the page image stays). It asks for confirmation first, and goes through the undo stack, so a mistaken clear is one Undo away.

Zoom

One button, two gestures:

• Long-press pins the current zoom and pan to this page.
• Tap re-applies the pinned view, or resets to 100% if none is saved.

Setup

The Setup button is a shortcut to the show’s Styles screen.

Rescan

Rescan re-reads the text on every page of the show, with a progress dialog, so search results match the current page images. Useful after cleaning or replacing pages.

Because it covers the whole show it asks first (Rescan whole show?, with the page count). It can take a while on a long script, and cue word marks follow the newly read text. Tap Cancel to leave everything as it is.

Photos

Photos opens the current page’s scene photos; see Scene Photos.

Axes

Every show has four vertical guide lines: Far Left (FL), Left (L), Right (R) and Far Right (FR). L and R mark the left and right edges of the printed text column; FL–L is the left gutter and R–FR the right gutter. Cues, cue groups, blocking and timestamps hug the text axes:

• A left-side element’s right edge sits on L, so it sits in the left gutter right next to the text. A very wide element grows leftward and may run past FL or off the page image; the canvas widens to show it.
• A right-side element’s left edge sits on R.

Cues and cue groups go on the show’s cue side (Settings); stage blocking and timestamps go on the other side.

A cue group wraps onto more lines when it doesn’t fit its gutter. On the left it wraps within FL–L and every line ends on L, so the lines are flush against the text with a ragged left edge. On the right it wraps within R–FR, with every line starting on R. Reordering cues in a group can re-wrap it, but the edge against the text never moves.

If you haven’t set FL or FR, Lx1go places them at a reasonable width beside the text. They follow L and R when they move, and are used for group wrapping, the gutter colour, the canvas, and PDF export. Drag a guide to set your own position.

Drag FL out into the margin (or past the page image) to give wide left-side groups more room before they wrap.

Import sets L and R automatically from the text on your pages, so they arrive ready to use. (An older show that never had them set gets the same treatment the first time you open Axes.) Tap Axes in the Tools panel to fine-tune them:

• Drag any guide horizontally to move it. The change applies immediately to every page, and every snapped element shifts with it. FL accepts negative positions (the guide can sit to the left of the page image) and FR can sit past the right edge.
• Snap all re-hooks every cue, blocking and timestamp in the show onto the axes, useful for older shows where elements were placed before axes existed. It confirms first, then walks every page.
• Recompute recalculates L and R from the page text if you’ve rescanned pages after import.
• Done exits axis-edit mode.

Elements you’ve manually dragged sideways stay put and are no longer snapped to the axis. Moving an element up or down won’t unhook it, so you can adjust its vertical position freely. To put one element back on its axis, select it and tap Align ( / ) on the bottom menu bar.

When you drag a guide or tap Recompute, every cue, blocking and timestamp still snapped to that axis moves to its new spot right away — and that new position is saved to the show immediately, not just drawn on screen. Reopen the page, or come back after restarting the app, and everything is still sitting exactly where the recalibration put it.

History

Every time you save a page, Lx1go keeps the previous version in a per-page history, up to the last seven. History opens a bottom sheet listing them newest-first: each row shows when it was taken (e.g. “today 8:03 PM”) with a summary underneath (e.g. “12 cues, 3 blocking, 24 strokes”).

Tap Restore on any row and confirm to roll the page back to that version. The current state is kept in history first (it becomes the new most-recent entry the moment you restore), and the restore itself goes through the undo stack, so it’s fully recoverable.

History covers the marked-up content (cues, blocking, timestamps, shapes, strokes, per-page notes), not the page image itself. For a full backup, see Backup & Sharing.
