Styles

Styles keep your prompt book consistent. Each show has its own set, and they travel with exports. They live in the Setup screen: tap Setup in the app bar (in a narrow window it’s in the ⋮ menu), Setup in the Tools panel, or a panel’s Edit shortcut (Pen, Highlight, Line).

Setup tabs

Cue Types — your cue categories; see Cue types below.
Styles — element styles: the full look of cues, blocking, text and timestamps in one preset. Each cue type points at its own element style (edit LX Cue once and every LX cue in the show updates); stage blocking default to Blocking and timestamps always use Timestamp. See Element style properties below.
Shapes — fill colour, border, opacity, and corner radius presets for the Shape tool. Includes three general-purpose presets (Blocking, Highlight, Area), one per cue category (LX, SFX, VID, FLYS, PYRO, AV) for quick tagging, and simple colour-named presets for ad-hoc marking.
Highlights — colour, width, and opacity presets for the highlighter.
Lines — colour, width, dash pattern, and end cap (plain or arrow) presets used by the Line tool and the Pen panel’s line presets.
Fly Lines — names, numbers, and short descriptions for the stage’s rigging equipment (e.g. “Grand Drape on 4”, “Legs 5–10”, “Cyc on 12”). Referenced by FLY cues; rename or renumber a line and all FLY cues using it update instantly.
Gels — colour swatches from popular gel libraries (Lee, Rosco), plus space to add house-specific gels. LX cues reference gels by code; colour cells show both the code and a swatch.
Settings — Call Stand By before GO, blocking labels, cue and blocking placement side, and the margin gutter fill. See Settings.
About — app name, version and build number, a tap-to-copy contact link, copyright, and a button listing every open-source dependency.

Editing a style updates everything that references it.

Text notes (Add Text) store the size of their box, so when a style change alters their font (size, typeface, bold or italic), every note using it is refitted across the whole show. That includes deleting, resetting or importing styles. Notes you resized by hand keep their box exactly as it is (longer text is cut off with “…”; use Auto size in Edit Text to refit one). If a page can’t be updated, a message names it and those notes keep their old box until you edit them.

Reset to defaults

The restart icon in the Setup app bar resets the tab you’re on. Every tab has it except Settings and About. It always confirms first, and can’t be undone from inside Setup. A .lx1 backup or a page snapshot will put things back.

Styles, Shapes, Highlights, Lines, Gels — restores the shipped presets. Custom presets you added on that tab are removed; elements that used them fall back to their own saved look.
Cue Types — restores the 14 built-in categories to their default names, colours and order. Categories you added are removed; cues in a removed category keep their labels but lose the category display.
Fly Lines — removes every fly line from the show. FLY cues that used them show as removed until you re-add the lines.

Style packs

The Style Pack folder button in the Setup app bar shares your look between shows or with another stage manager:

Export Style Pack… — name the pack and share it as a .lxstyles file. It holds the show’s element, shape, line and highlight styles plus every cue type. Fly lines and gels are not included; they’re specific to each production.
Import Style Pack… — pick a .lxstyles file, then choose Merge (keep this show’s presets, overwriting any the pack also has) or Replace (wipe this show’s presets and use the pack’s).

Cue types

The 14 built-in cue types are LX, SFX, VID, FLYS, PYRO, AV, DOME, SPOT, HAZE, PROJ, RIG, HOUSE, COMM and TAB. Drag to reorder, tap + to add one, or tap a type’s edit button to change:

Name and Element Style — the style sets the cue box’s colour, font and line; it’s also the category’s badge colour.
Badge colour — only used when no element style is linked.
Visible in Add Cue picker — turn off types this venue doesn’t use. Existing cues keep their type.
Crew acknowledges Stand By — with Crew link on, crew tap ACK on their device before GO.

Element style properties

Tap a preset’s edit button on the Styles tab to change:

Name — the label shown in the picker (e.g. LX Cue, Stage Blocking, Timestamp, Note).
Font — Default, Roboto, Courier, Arial, or Times New Roman.
Font size — the label’s point size.
Text and Background colours. The background is also the swatch used for the category chip in the Cue list and category badges, so editing it updates every chip too.
Weight — Normal or Bold. Style — Normal or Italic.
Align — text alignment inside the box: left, centre, or right.
Line opacity — transparency of the connecting line from the box to its anchor on the page. Blocking and Timestamp presets default to 35% so their lines stay legible next to solid cue lines; cues default to 100%.
Line width — connecting-line thickness. The endpoint dot scales with it so it stays visible at any width.
Opacity — applied to the whole element (box + text), 0–100%. Useful for de-emphasising cut cues without deleting them.
Line colour — empty means “use the theme outline”, which adapts to light and dark mode. A custom colour shows a Reset button.
Word highlight — how the anchor word in the script is marked: None (no highlight), Line, Box, or Highlighter. Pick None to switch off word marks for every cue or blocking using this preset.

Styling a single element

Styles are always shared — there are no one-off overrides. To give one cue, blocking or text note a different look, double-tap it (or select it and tap Edit) and tap the Style tile to pick another preset. The Add Text dialog uses the same tile, starting on Note. If no preset fits, add a new one on the Styles tab first.

The Edit button beside the Style tile opens that preset’s editor, so any change there applies to every element using the preset. The dialog’s Connecting Line switch turns the line on or off for just that element. Timestamps have no style picker; they all use Timestamp.
