Show Mode

Show mode is the performance view: full-screen script, big cue boxes, no editing tools, and the screen kept awake for the whole run.

Enter it from the edit screen’s play button in the app bar (a filled play-circle icon next to the Setup button ).

Calling cues

Every cue starts not called (amber border). Each tap moves it on:

  1. Go (green): the cue has been called. This is the first tap.
  2. Complete (grey): done. The cue dims so it drops out of your attention.
  3. A further tap returns it to not called.

Prefer to give a separate stand-by? Turn on Call Stand By before GO in Setup → Settings (off by default). The first tap then marks the cue Stand By (it shows an amber SB tag) and the second is GO.

Follow-on cues show their “→” prefix so you know they ride on the previous GO.

Reset Cues in the top overlay puts every cue back to not called for the next run. It asks first (“Reset All Cues?”) and also clears any crew responses.

During the run

  • Pages turn with the controls along the bottom: Prev , the page counter, Next , Next cue and Next song , the same as the edit screen. Annotations, blocking, and drawings all render exactly as marked up. Tap the page counter to type a page number and go straight there.
  • The page is laid out exactly like the edit screen, margin gutters included: cues, groups, blocking and timestamps parked in the far-left or far-right gutter are shown (on the gutter colour, if you set one) and gutter cues tap through their states like any other. The page opens zoomed to fit the whole page plus its gutters.
  • The Navigate button (compass icon ) at the right end of those controls opens the Songs / Bookmarks / Cues / Notes sheet. Tap a row to jump there. Jumping never changes the state of your cues. See Navigation & Zoom.
  • The show timer (also on the edit screen tool bar) starts and pauses with a tap, and flashes red while paused. Long-press it to reset (it asks first). It shows elapsed time, and when the show has an expected duration, remaining time as well. Timestamp elements show their captured times alongside the action.
  • The screen stays awake for the entire session, so the tablet won’t sleep mid-act.
  • The top overlay holds Exit ✕ , the page number, Crew , Cue List , Notes , the theme icon and Reset Cues . The theme icon cycles between System, Light, and Dark, right where you need it if a house-lights change makes the current theme hard to read.

Leaving show mode

Tap ✕ in the top overlay. The system back gesture does the same, so a stray swipe can’t drop you out mid-scene: if any cue hasn’t been reset to not called you’re asked Exit Show Mode? first.

Show mode never changes your markup; all editing stays in the edit screen. If you ran the show timer, that run’s timing is saved when you exit.

Crew can follow your calls on their own phones or tablets.

  1. In show mode tap the Crew button and switch Crew link on. The tablet must be on the same Wi-Fi as the crew.
  2. Crew scan the QR code (or open the address shown) to open CueYou in their browser, enter the join code and their name, and pick one department, or Watch only to follow along without buttons.
  3. Call Stand By before GO turns on automatically while the link runs (and goes back to your setting when it stops): your first tap on a cue or cue group sends Stand By, the second GO, the third marks it complete.
  4. The cue box shows SB, a ✓ when crew have acknowledged (for cue types with Crew acknowledges Stand By on in Setup → Cue types), ? while they haven’t, and a red NOT READY if crew flag a problem. You can always call GO; crew never block you.
  5. A cue group is called as one. Each department in it gets its own card and acknowledges separately; the group shows ✓ once everyone has. Crew marking their part complete ticks that cue; the group completes when every part is done, or when you tap it.
  6. Crew see every department’s active cues in big cards plus what’s coming up, so they have the context. ACK, NOT READY / READY and COMPLETE only appear on their own department’s cards; other departments’ cards are view-only, and Watch only is view-only throughout. Coming up lists the next five cues from every department, counting on from the last cue you called; if their own department’s next cue isn’t among them it’s added at the end, and their own cues are marked Yours.
  7. Crew see who they’re signed in as at the top of the page (e.g. “Shane on LX” or “Laz · Watching”) and can tap Change to switch department.
  8. The Crew link sheet lists everyone connected by name, with their department (or Watching) beside it.

The link stops when you leave show mode, and a new join code is made each time it starts. If the app is closed or backgrounded, crew see “reconnecting…” until you return. Live progress isn’t saved; after a restart, go back to your page and call the next Stand By. Sign-ins aren’t kept either: after the link restarts, crew rejoin with the new join code (their browser remembers their name and department).
