Backup & Sharing

Your prompt book represents weeks of work. Lx1go has several ways to protect it.

Backing up a show

Two ways to trigger it:

• From the home screen: long-press a show → Backup .
• Inside a show: the app-bar ⋮ menu → Backup show .

After compression a Backup ready dialog asks where to put the .lx1:

• Save to… opens a file picker (Downloads, Drive, USB stick, wherever). Pick the folder, the file lands there.
• Share… opens the share sheet (email, AirDrop, another device on the same network, cloud apps).
• Cancel discards the prepared file without saving it.

Back up each show you care about; there’s no all-at-once backup, so what you save is always exactly one prompt book. This is the way to move a prompt book between tablets or hand over to a deputy.

Restoring

Two entry points:

• Home screen ⋮ → Restore from Backup , useful when you have no shows loaded yet.
• Inside a show, ⋮ → Restore from backup .

You can also tap a .lx1 file in a file manager (or open one from an email attachment or share sheet):

• Android offers Lx1go as an app that can open it.
• iPad / iPhone: tapping a .lx1 in Files, Mail, or Messages, or using Share → Open in Lx1go, launches the same restore flow.

Lx1go accepts .lx1 files (encrypted) and plain .zip files. It reads the show name from the file and asks you to confirm or change it (Restore as).

Restoring over an existing show replaces it. If a show with that name already exists, Lx1go asks Overwrite “<name>”? first. Tap Overwrite and the show becomes exactly what’s in the backup: pages, cues, and photos that aren’t in the backup are gone from the show, not mixed in. The version you replaced is kept inside the restored show and is never deleted automatically. To keep both, restore under a different name instead.

A backup holding several shows skips the rename step; if any of those shows already exist, one Overwrite N shows? prompt lists them before anything is replaced.

If the backup file is damaged, the restore stops with an error message before anything is written, and your existing shows are left untouched.

Back up before production week, and any time a prompt book has changed significantly.

Page history

Every time a page is saved, Lx1go keeps a copy of its previous version. Tools → History lists the last seven for the current page, with when each was taken and what was on the page (cues, blocking, strokes, and so on). Tap Restore on a row and confirm to roll the page back; the version you’re replacing goes into the history too, and the restore can be undone.

This is the quickest way to recover a page after a mistake that’s too far back for Undo.

Revert , in the same Tools category, is different: it only appears after you’ve cleaned a page image, and puts back the image as it was before cleaning.

Automatic daily versions

The first time a page is saved each day, Lx1go keeps a dated copy of the whole show. Only today’s and yesterday’s copies are kept. There is no in-app button to restore one. They’re a last-resort safety net; use Page history or a .lx1 backup for everyday recovery.

What’s not undoable

Undo covers page content (elements, drawings, clears). These are permanent: deleting a show and deleting pages. Restoring a backup over a show can’t be undone from inside the app either, but the replaced show is kept and can be recovered. Back up first when in doubt.
